Healthcare Furniture: Better than 2020 Vision
In-Person and Virtual CEU Course
Virtual Course Summary
This CEU will introduce Healthcare Furniture: Better Than 2020 Vision with furniture solutions post-COVID. These solutions will be focused on infection prevention, innovation, cleanability and long-term durability from frame to fabric. This CEU will explore why better surface selections play a role in reducing transmission of costly and dangerous pathogens in healthcare environments. It will explore the importance of designs that strike a balance between style, sustainability, and infection control. Evidence based data is included, along with Furniture Guidelines Institute guidelines and EPA registered cleaning protocols. We will create a platform for an educational and solution-centered conversation.

COVID-19 and Healthcare Surfaces
In-Person and Virtual CEU Course
Virtual Course Summary
Learn why surfaces play a role in the transmission of COVID-19 and other dangerous pathogens. We will provide a broad-brush review of COVID-19 first, followed by Clostridium Difficle (C.diff) and Candida Auris (C.Auris) and beyond. Evidence-based design data will be included along with CDC's recommendations on cleaning protocols and products.

C. Diff & C. Auris & Healthcare Surfaces
In-Person and Virtual CEU Course
Virtual Course Summary
The course focuses on Clostridium Difficile (C.Diff) and Candida Auris (C.Auris) as they are transmitted via surfaces. They are currently listed as URGENT THREATS on the CDC's website. Evidence based redesign solutions will be introduced. Healthcare facilities will be searching for innovation and ideas to improve their infection prevention capabilities and mounting financial burdens caused by urgent antibiotic resistant threats.

Science Meets Style: Dissect, Dollarize and Re-Design the Patient Room
In-Person and Virtual CEU Course
Virtual Course Summary
Thoughtful choices in designing patient rooms potentially contribute to reduced healthcare-associated infections and better HCAHPS scores. This presentation will introduce the results of important scientific studies, examining patient room materials including wood, stainless steel, and solid surfaces. Surfaces were tested before and after being compromised to simulate healthcare environments. Attendees will hear the candid, real world challenges of maintaining high design in the harsh healthcare environment that battles constant chemical cleaners and abuse. Attendees will explore how to "dollarize" the risk to hospitals based on Medicare reimbursements and discover avenues to merge science with style.
